Location: Texas A&M University Riverside Campus
Date: Friday and Saturday, June 18th and 19th, 2004
Targets

Animal Targets of the shoot management’s choice and placement.

Course of Fire: One (1) arrow per target (30 arrows) from indicated firing points at unknown distances from 5 to 50 yards.  Shooter must have some part of his/her body touching the shooting stake during the shot.  Clover kids will not shoot at all targets.
Time Limits: Shooters must shoot in an expeditious manner
Equipment: Bows limited to a 65 pound maximum (or peak) draw weight.  Field or target points permitted on arrows- NO BROADHEADS.  No release shooter may draw significantly above the line of flight to the target.  Binoculars or monocular may be used to determine kill zone location; range finders or range finding binoculars strictly prohibited
Equipment Divisions:

Bare Bow- recurve or longbows without sights, aiming point or marks of any kind.

Recurve or Traditional- recurve bows with adjustable or hunting sights.

Unaided- compound bows with any sights, finger release ONLY.

Aided- compound bows with any sights and mechanical release aids.

Rules: Current 4-H archery rules apply
Scoring: Fred Bear scoring system:   Center kill hits = +10, kill zone hits = +5, non vital hits = -5, clean miss = 0, ethical pass = +1.   Bounce outs and pass throughs scored as clean misses.  Arrows touching the line scored at the higher value
Equipment Inspection: All equipment subject to inspection is at the discretion of the match supervisor or program director
Coaching: No coaching on the field
Spectator Area: Spectators may remain with the group but may not coach, signal or interfere with the archers
